Itinerary

Day 1. Friday We depart and travel to Stratford-upon-Avon, heading straight to the DoubleTree by Hilton Stratford-upon-Avon. Luggage can be stored at the hotel while you explore the town, and you may return at your leisure from 4pm onwards, when check-in opens. Famed as the birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford is a charming town rich in history and culture, with beautifully preserved Tudor architecture, quaint streets, and riverside scenery. Discover Shakespeare’s Birthplace, wander through the cobbled lanes, or relax with a coffee by the River Avon. Shoppers will enjoy browsing a mix of shops – all within a compact, walkable town centre.

Day 2. Saturday Today, enjoy a free day to explore Stratford-upon-Avon at your own pace. Literature lovers can visit Shakespeare’s family homes, including Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Hall’s Croft, or enjoy a performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. For something more relaxing, take a river cruise on the Avon or stroll through the tranquil Bancroft Gardens. Alternatively, explore the town on a guided walking tour or hop on a sightseeing bus to take in Stratford’s highlights and hidden gems. In the evening, why not enjoy a relaxing dinner at one of the town’s traditional pubs, charming riverside restaurants, or one of the cosy tearooms.

Day 3. Sunday Enjoy additional time in Stratford-upon-Avon this morning and soak up its peaceful, timeless atmosphere. Take a final walk along the scenic River Avon, browse the bustling weekend markets, or revisit one of the Shakespeare properties you may have missed. You might also explore Holy Trinity Church, where Shakespeare is buried, or simply relax in one of the charming riverside cafés, watching the world go by. Whether you’re in the mood for sightseeing or shopping, Stratford-upon-Avon offers the perfect farewell to a truly memorable and inspiring weekend breakaway. We depart later this afternoon to begin our journey home.
