Day 1. Monday We travel to Upton St. Leonards, Near Gloucester.
Day 2. Tuesday Today begins with free time to explore the elegant spa town of Cheltenham, known for its Regency architecture, leafy promenades, boutique shops, and vibrant café culture. Stroll through the town at your own pace, perhaps visiting the beautiful parks or enjoying a coffee in one of the many independent cafés. Later, we enjoy a nostalgic journey aboard the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway, travelling through the stunning Cotswold countryside aboard a lovingly restored heritage train. Sit back, relax, and soak up the views as we pass rolling hills, charming villages, and historic stations on this scenic and memorable railway experience.
Day 3. Wednesday Following breakfast, we travel to the historic city of Gloucester, where we include entrance to the magnificent Gloucester Cathedral. Famed for its stunning Gothic architecture, the cathedral features intricate fan-vaulted ceilings, beautiful stained glass, and cloisters used in the filming of the Harry Potter films. Enjoy time to explore at your leisure, perhaps taking a stroll along the city’s regenerated historic docks, visiting one of the local museums, or browsing the shops and cafés in the bustling centre. With its fascinating history, striking architecture, and riverside charm, Gloucester offers a rewarding and enriching day full of culture and discovery.
Day 4. Thursday Today, we explore the storybook beauty of The Cotswolds, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty known for its rolling hills, dry-stone walls, and honey-coloured cottages. Travel through a landscape of tranquil countryside dotted with charming villages, historic market towns, and lush green meadows. Along the way, enjoy stops at some of the most picturesque and quintessentially English locations, with time to browse local shops, relax in traditional tearooms, or simply soak up the peaceful atmosphere. With its timeless rural charm and scenic views around every corner, the Cotswolds offers a truly unforgettable glimpse into classic English country life.
Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.
