Today we explore Cornwall’s magical gardens. Enjoying the warmth of the Gulf Stream, Cornwall’s gardens are among the most beautiful and diverse in the country. In spring, they come alive with colour, showcasing an extraordinary collection of rare and exotic plants, ancient trees, and vibrant floral displays. A highlight of our itinerary is a visit to the world-renowned Eden Project – a dramatic global garden housed in striking tropical biomes. Nestled in a vast former clay pit the size of 30 football pitches, it’s home to the world’s largest indoor rainforest. Here, nature, science, and sustainability combine to create an unforgettable and inspiring experience.

Itinerary

Day 1. Tuesday We travel to Looe.

Day 2. Wednesday Enjoy a day at leisure to explore more of Looe at your own pace.

Day 3. Thursday Today we explore the awe-inspiring Eden Project. Often described as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the Eden Project is a spectacular global garden set in a vast former clay pit, spanning the size of 30 football pitches. Its iconic biomes showcase thousands of plant species from across the globe. Step into the Rainforest Biome – the world’s largest indoor rainforest – and experience the sights, scents, and humidity of a thriving jungle. Then explore the Mediterranean Biome, with its lemon trees, olive groves, and colourful blooms from South Africa and California. Eden is a celebration of nature, sustainability, and global diversity.

Day 4. Friday Following breakfast, we visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Lost to overgrowth since the outbreak of World War I, this “Sleeping Beauty” was rediscovered in 1990 and is now Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Explore romantic Victorian gardens, exotic jungle paths, and peaceful woodland trails in this truly unique setting where history and nature intertwine. Step back in time as you wander through beautifully restored grounds filled with charm and mystery. We also include a short visit to the picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey, known for its narrow streets, working harbour, and traditional coastal character.

Day 5. Saturday Today we visit Padstow. Nestled on the north coast of Cornwall, Padstow is a charming harbour town known for its maritime heritage, scenic beauty, and vibrant atmosphere. Wander along the picturesque harbour, watch the fishing boats come and go, and explore the town’s winding streets filled with independent shops, galleries, and cosy cafés. Padstow is also a foodie’s paradise, famously home to restaurants by celebrity chef Rick Stein. Whether you're sampling fresh seafood, enjoying a Cornish pasty, or simply soaking in the coastal charm, Padstow offers a delightful blend of relaxation, flavour, and seaside tradition.

Day 6. Sunday We depart and return home.

Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
