New Year at the White Horse Farm Inn

Day 1. We depart and travel to York. Stroll through its medieval cobbled lanes and immerse yourself in the rich history and charming atmosphere that permeates every corner of this magnificent city. Later this afternoon, we arrive in the picturesque village of Rosedale Abbey and enjoy a welcome cup of tea and mince pie on arrival, before settling into your comfortable room. Meet the management team and fellow guests at the welcome drinks reception, followed by tonight’s delicious evening meal. This evening, unwind in front of the roaring log fire or enjoy seasonal fun, games, and festive holiday cheer in the bar.

Day 2. (New Year’s Eve) After breakfast, we will visit Whitby, a charming town celebrated for its rich history, stunning coastal scenery, and captivating maritime heritage. Stroll through the historic streets, admire the picturesque harbour, and soak up the town’s unique atmosphere. Later, we journey back through the moors and dales, stopping at the famous village of Goathland, known as ‘Aidensfield’ from TV’s Heartbeat. Returning to the hotel, you will have time to relax and prepare for tonight’s evening meal and New Year’s Eve Party, complete with a glass of champagne at midnight to welcome the New Year in style.

Day 3. (New Year’s Day) After breakfast, we enjoy a visit to Scarborough, a captivating seaside town nestled on the stunning North Yorkshire coastline. Stroll along its two beautiful beaches, North Bay and South Bay, and take in the fresh sea air while enjoying the picturesque views. Explore the historic town centre, with its charming streets, unique shops, and bustling harbour, where history and modern life blend seamlessly. Later, we return to the hotel in the afternoon to relax and unwind before tonight’s evening meal, followed by seasonal fun and games in the bar, ensuring another perfect day of exploration, and festive enjoyment.

Day 4. After breakfast, we check out and visit the picturesque market town of Helmsley. From its medieval castle ruins to the bustling market square, charming streets, and variety of independent shops, cafés, and galleries, Helmsley offers a delightful blend of old-world charm and modern amenities. Take time to explore at your leisure, enjoying the town’s unique atmosphere, fascinating history, and scenic surroundings. In the afternoon, we depart Helmsley for our return journey home, bringing to a close a truly memorable, relaxing, and festive holiday experience, filled with exploration, celebration, and joyful seasonal moments.

Situated on a hillside offering spectacular views over the lovely village of Rosedale Abbey and the valley beyond, this 16^th Century Inn offers a warm welcome. With a roaring log fire in the bar, comfortable bedrooms with modern facilities, unpretentious home-made and locally sourced food in the restaurant, we aim to offer a personal and friendly service to all. All bedrooms are en-suite and have tea/coffee making facilities, TV and hair dryer. All bedrooms are located on the first floor, up one flight of stairs with most offering fabulous views over the National Park.

Please note: There is no lift in the hotel, so there is a flight of stairs to access bedrooms. There are also steps up from the car park to access the main entrance. This accommodation therefore is not recommended for the mobility impaired.
