Day 1. We depart and travel to Helmsley, a quaint market town on the fringe of the North York Moors. From its medieval castle ruins to its bustling market square and array of independent shops, Helmsley offers a unique blend of old-world charm and modern amenities. We arrive in the village of Rosedale Abbey later this afternoon and enjoy a welcome cup of tea and mince pie on arrival, before settling into our rooms. Meet the management team and fellow guests at the welcome drink’s reception, before tonight’s delicious evening meal. This evening relax in front of the roaring log fire or enjoy seasonal fun and games in the bar.
Day 2. After breakfast, we’ll set off to explore Whitby. With its fascinating history, dramatic coastal scenery, and welcoming atmosphere, this picturesque seaside town is a must-visit for travellers seeking the perfect mix of heritage, natural beauty, and maritime charm. Take time to wander the cobbled streets, visit the famous abbey, or simply enjoy the harbour views. Later this afternoon, we head back into the moors and dales, stopping at the well-known village of Goathland - recognised by many as Aidensfield from TV’s Heartbeat. We then return to the hotel to relax and prepare for tonight’s meal, followed by seasonal fun and games in the bar.
Day 3. After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a delightful visit to Scarborough. Discover the timeless charm and beauty of this captivating seaside resort, set along the spectacular North Yorkshire coastline. With its two sweeping bays - North Bay and South Bay - Scarborough offers golden sands, fresh sea air, and a vibrant promenade filled with classic seaside attractions. Take time to stroll along the seafront, admire the views from the castle headland, or simply relax and soak up the coastal atmosphere. Later, we return to the hotel to unwind and prepare for tonight’s delicious meal, followed by seasonal fun and games in the bar.
Day 4. We check out and depart this morning after breakfast, travelling to the magnificent city of York - where history and modern life blend seamlessly. This enchanting destination offers a wealth of experiences, from its awe-inspiring Minster and ancient city walls to charming shops and contemporary cafés. Stroll through the medieval cobbled lanes, soak up the atmosphere of the Shambles, and discover the fascinating stories that echo through every corner of this remarkable city. Take time to enjoy York’s unique blend of heritage and vibrancy before we depart later this afternoon for our return journey home.
