Day 1. Friday We depart and travel to the historic city of Chester - a captivating blend of heritage and charm, packed with must-see treasures. Explore Britain’s most complete city walls, its oldest racecourse, and the country’s largest Roman Amphitheatre. Admire the 1,000-year-old cathedral, famed for its stunning medieval carvings, and don’t miss the unique 700-year-old Rows galleries, where shopping becomes a double delight. These unique galleries create a double-deck street with steps leading to covered walkways and shops housed in buildings shaped by over 800 years of architecture, history and enduring heritage throughout Chester’s vibrant city centre. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Llandudno and the White Heather Hotel. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Saturday Today we enjoy free time in Llandudno, one of the largest and most popular seaside resorts in Wales. This elegant coastal town still retains much of its original Victorian character and charm, offering a delightful mix of history, beauty, and traditional seaside atmosphere. The golden sandy beach at North Shore is set in a magnificent crescent-shaped bay, flanked by the dramatic headlands of the Great Orme and Little Orme, with the town and its graceful promenade nestled between. A highlight of any visit is the pier, which stretches an impressive 2,295 feet (700 metres) over the sea. As the longest pier in Wales, it offers a leisurely stroll with superb panoramic views across the Irish Sea and along the scenic North Wales Coast. Enjoy free time to explore, relax, or simply soak in the timeless charm.
Day 3. Sunday We enjoy further free time in Llandudno following breakfast, giving you the opportunity to relax or explore at your own pace. A popular attraction is The Great Orme Tramway, which has been delighting visitors since it opened on July 31st, 1902. An engineering marvel of its age, it remains the only cable-hauled tramway still operating on British public roads. The Tramway climbs a mile (1500m) through The Great Orme Country Park and Nature Reserve to the Great Orme’s spectacular summit, offering breathtaking panoramic views. Re-live the experience of travel more than 100 years ago in the lovingly restored original tramcars, each named after a Saint. We depart later this afternoon to make our comfortable journey home after a memorable coastal break with wonderful views and relaxed pace.
