Day 1. Sunday: An early start this morning as we make our way to the port of Holyhead for our relaxing and scenic crossing to Dublin. Upon arrival in Ireland’s vibrant capital, we journey onward to the outskirts of the city, where we’ll settle in for a comfortable overnight stay with dinner, bed, and a hearty breakfast included.
Day 2. Monday: After a hearty breakfast, we depart our hotel and set off for Bantry, with a break in the vibrant city of Cork. Exciting, historic, and full of life, Cork offers plenty to explore. As one of Ireland’s principal cultural centres, the city boasts a rich heritage, fascinating landmarks, and a lively atmosphere. There will be time to soak up its unique character, and enjoy riverside walks, it's quirky museums, and the 18th-century food market before continuing our journey west. We’ll then arrive in Bantry, where we will enjoy a four-night stay with dinner and breakfast included at the elegant Maritime Hotel, beautifully situated overlooking Bantry Bay.
Day 3. Tuesday: Today we enjoy a scenic drive of the spectacular Beara Peninsula, which links the charming towns of Glengarriff in County Cork and Kenmare in County Kerry. One of Ireland’s most unspoilt regions, the Beara Peninsula offers dramatic landscapes, where rugged mountain ranges contrast beautifully with a deeply indented and ever-changing coastline. We visit Castletownbere, the peninsula’s principal town, home to the second-largest natural harbour in the world and one of Ireland’s most important fishing ports. There will be opportunities to admire the scenery before returning via Kenmare and the stunning Caha Mountains.
Day 4. Wednesday: Today is yours to enjoy at leisure in the charming harbour town of Bantry. Relax and make the most of the hotel’s excellent leisure facilities, including the swimming pool, spa, and wellness areas, or simply unwind and take in the beautiful surroundings. Alternatively, venture out to explore Bantry and, discover its welcoming atmosphere, independent shops, cafés, and waterfront promenades. Take a stroll along the harbour, browse the local boutiques, or enjoy a coffee while admiring the views across Bantry Bay. This free day offers the perfect opportunity to relax and recharge in truly picturesque surroundings throughout.
Day 5. Thursday: Today we enjoy a scenic drive along Ireland’s beautiful south-west coast, visiting the colourful seaside town of Kinsale. Situated at the start of the Wild Atlantic Way, Kinsale is renowned for its vibrant streetscapes, charming harbour, and rich maritime heritage. Wander through its narrow winding streets and soak up the atmosphere of this historic town, which boasts over 1,000 years of fascinating history. Discover its medieval past, admire the beautiful coastline and nearby beaches, and learn about Kinsale’s intriguing connection to one of the world’s most famous ships. A delightful day of scenery, culture, and exploration awaits.
Day 6. Friday: We depart Bantry and begin our return journey home, travelling through County Tipperary to visit the town of Cashel, home to the iconic Rock of Cashel. One of Ireland’s most spectacular attractions, it rises dramatically above the surrounding landscape. A medieval complex on a hilltop overlooking the town, the site includes a Gothic cathedral, a round tower, and a 15th-century castle. Cashel’s rich history is reflected in its wider heritage, from prehistoric raths to medieval monasteries and fortified townhouses, as well as a cathedral. We will continue to our hotel on the outskirts of Dublin for one night dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 7. Saturday: We depart early, journeying towards Dublin Port to begin the final leg of our adventure. Enjoy a full, hearty breakfast onboard the ferry as you relax and take in the views. As the ferry sails away, we reflect on unforgettable memories made and the magic of Ireland that will stay with us long after we arrive home.
Passports: British or Irish citizens travelling on the Irish Sea routes do not need a passport to travel to Britain or Ireland but must have Photographic Identification. Useful means of identification when travelling on this route are passport, driving licence and a bus pass.
Travel Insurance: All passengers must be in possession of fully comprehensive travel insurance.
