Day 1. Monday We travel to Alnwick.
Day 2. Tuesday Enjoy a visit to Lindisfarne and Bamburgh. Twice each day, the long, narrow causeway to Lindisfarne - also known as Holy Island - vanishes beneath the incoming tide, temporarily separating this peaceful, spiritual place from the mainland. Discover the island’s deep religious history, tranquil atmosphere, and natural beauty. Later, travel along the stunning Northumberland coast to Bamburgh, an idyllic village set in one of the most breathtaking regions in the country. Explore its charming streets, enjoy coastal views, and marvel at the dramatic, cliff-top Bamburgh Castle, which has stood guard over land and sea for centuries.
Day 3. Wednesday Today we travel to Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland’s northernmost town, just three miles from the Scottish border. With its historic town walls, four sandy beaches, and scenic riverside walks along the River Tweed, Berwick offers the perfect setting for a relaxing day. Take time to explore its charming streets, local shops, and fascinating landmarks. This picturesque coastal town blends rich history with natural beauty. On our return journey, we pause for a short visit to Seahouses, a colourful fishing village known for its traditional seaside character, harbour views, and access to the beautiful Northumberland coastline.
Day 4. Thursday Enjoy a day at leisure to explore more of Alnwick at your own pace.
Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
