With breathtaking mountains and beautiful lakes, the Lake Districts magnificent scenery has inspired the works or many writers and poets.

Itinerary

Day 1. Monday We travel to Grange over Sands.

Day 2. Tuesday Enjoy a day visiting the Lakeside town of Keswick, before continuing to Ullswater for a cruise on-board the Ullswater ‘Steamers’, who have operated cruises on England’s most beautiful lakes for 150 years. We return to the hotel via the spectacular Kirkstone Pass.

Day 3. Wednesday Today we enjoy a visit to Bowness-on-Windermere. Situated on the shores of Lake Windermere this dynamic town boasts many fine cultural and historical attractions. We continue to Ambleside, situated at the northern end of Windermere, before our final visit to Grasmere, famous for William Wordsworth and the inspiration for painters, poets, writers and craftsmen for centuries.

Day 4. Thursday Enjoy a day at leisure or we may offer an optional excursion (charge applicable). Your driver will provide you with further information.

Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.

Cumbria Grand Hotel

Built in 1880, the Cumbria Grand Hotel is set in 20 acres of private gardens and woodlands overlooking Morecambe Bay. All bedrooms are en-suite with television, telephone, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Additional facilities include a lounge bar, restaurant, and games room with snooker table. Limited ground floor bedrooms. Lift to all floors. Official rating AA 3 star.
