Oxford & Cambridge

Day 1. Saturday We depart and travel to Oxford, famously known as the City of Dreaming Spires. Steeped in a rich and fascinating history, Oxford is renowned for its prestigious university, home to 38 historic colleges where many notable scholars, authors, and world leaders have studied. Its inspiring architecture, cobbled lanes, and academic atmosphere have captured the imagination of visitors for centuries. Explore the grand university halls and follow in the footsteps of Prime Ministers, celebrated poets, and even the legendary Harry Potter, with several scenes filmed right here. Oxford is also a favourite location for many popular television shows, including Inspector Morse. With its mix of history, and culture, Oxford offers a truly memorable experience for history lovers, literary fans, and curious travellers alike. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Milton Keynes and the Delta Hotel by Marriott Milton Keynes. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.

Day 2. Sunday Following breakfast, we begin our journey home – but not before a memorable stop in the iconic university city of Cambridge. Celebrated for its stunning architecture, peaceful green spaces, and centuries of academic excellence, Cambridge is a destination that beautifully blends history, culture, and charm. The compact city centre is perfect for exploring on foot, with ancient colleges, cobbled lanes, and the scenic “Backs” lining the River Cam. This quintessentially English city has been a hub of learning and discovery for generations. With famous graduates such as Sir Isaac Newton, and Charles Darwin, Cambridge continues to inspire minds around the world. Take time to admire the majestic college buildings, enjoy a relaxing punt on the river, discover unique local treasures, or simply soak up the vibrant atmosphere, rich with history and tradition. It’s a perfect way to end your weekend break. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.

The Delta Hotel by Marriott Milton Keynes is a modern hotel, 4-miles from the city centre and is ideally located for visiting the university city of Cambridge and Oxford, the City of Dreaming Spires.
All non-smoking bedrooms are en-suite with television, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and tea/coffee making facilities.
Additional facilities include a restaurant and lounge bar.
There is also a small gym with cardio equipment.
