Day 1. Monday We travel to Nidd Hall, near Harrogate.
Day 2. Tuesday Following breakfast, we’ll visit York, a city rich in culture and history. Marvel at the soaring Gothic architecture of York Minster Cathedral, uncover the city’s Viking heritage at the Jorvik Viking Centre, or visit the National Railway Museum, home to some of the world’s most famous locomotives. Don’t miss Clifford’s Tower, where you can enjoy panoramic views of York. Afterwards, wander the charming Shambles, a street lined with independent boutiques nestled in beautifully preserved timber-framed buildings - perfect for shopping and soaking up York’s historic atmosphere. Step back 2,000 years as you explore its medieval streets.
Day 3. Wednesday Following breakfast, we will enjoy a visit to Skipton and its Wednesday Market. Dating back to medieval times, the market was established by a Royal Charter from King John, granting permission to ‘The Lord of the Honour’ of Skipton Castle to hold a fair on Skipton High Street. Today, the market is bustling with stalls offering everything from local cheeses and meats to scarves, arts and crafts, shoes, boots, and Yorkshire-made blankets. Beyond the market, you can explore Skipton Castle, which at over 900 years old, stands as one of England’s most complete and best-preserved medieval castles, steeped in fascinating history.
Day 4. Thursday Following breakfast, we will enjoy a day at leisure to enjoy the on-site facilities & entertainment.
Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.
