Day 1. Monday We travel to Aberfoyle.
Day 2. Tuesday Today, we embark on a scenic journey aboard the historic Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway. This 10-mile route will take us along the sparkling Forth Estuary and across the stunning, stone-arched Avon Viaduct. You’ll have the chance to fully immerse yourself in the charming atmosphere of this award-winning heritage railway, with its sights, sounds, stories, and even the nostalgic smells of yesteryear. Our final adventure of the day will be a relaxing 90-minute cruise along the Firth of Forth, offering breathtaking views of the historic Three Bridges, the iconic Edinburgh skyline to the south, and the picturesque Kingdom of Fife to the north.
Day 3. Wednesday Enjoy a day journeying through the stunning Trossachs to the spectacular Falkirk Wheel - the world’s only rotating boat lift. You'll soar skyward to join the Union Canal, 35 metres above the ground. After gliding smoothly along the aqueduct and through the Roughcastle Tunnel, you'll reach the start of the canal before descending gently back to the Visitor Centre. Later, we continue to scenic Loch Lomond for a relaxing 2-hour cruise. On board, you'll uncover the legends and hidden secrets of the loch’s islands as we pass the world-famous golf club. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, and enjoy commentary highlighting the area's history.
Day 4. Thursday Enjoy a day exploring Dundee, a vibrant city on the banks of the Tay Estuary. Known as Scotland’s sunniest and most dynamic city, Dundee’s revitalised waterfront is home to the striking V&A Museum of Design - the only V&A museum outside London. Though compact, Dundee is bursting with culture, history, and things to see and do. Later this afternoon, we’ll board the train for an unforgettable journey, crossing the Tay Bridge and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Forth Bridge before arriving in Edinburgh. On arrival, we’ll be met by our coach for the return journey to Aberfoyle, and our last evening at the Rob Roy Hotel.
Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
