Day 1. Monday We travel to Ilfracombe
Day 2. Tuesday Following breakfast, we enjoy an excursion to Hartland Abbey, a historic family home and popular film location nestled in a picturesque valley. Used as the setting for Enid Blyton’s Malory Towers, the award-winning house features fascinating interiors, ornate decoration, peaceful woodland walks, walled gardens, and scenic parkland. Owned by the same family for generations, Hartland Abbey offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere to visitors. We return to the hotel via a short break in Bideford, a charming market town with a rich maritime heritage and stunning natural surroundings. Set along the scenic River Torridge in North Devon, Bideford was historically known as the “Little White Town.”
Day 3. Wednesday Today promises a delightful blend of natural beauty and craftsmanship as we visit RHS Garden Rosemoor and Dartington Crystal. Nestled in the heart of North Devon, RHS Rosemoor is a tranquil haven of beautifully designed ‘garden rooms,’ each bursting with seasonal colour and character. Breathe in the scent of over 250 varieties of roses, admire the fiery tones of the Hot Garden, or unwind in the serene blues of the Cool Garden. Stroll through peaceful woodlands and enjoy locally sourced treats in the tearoom. Later, we visit Dartington Crystal, where tradition meets artistry. Discover over 50 years of glassmaking heritage at this sparkling attraction, which celebrates the beauty and precision of handcrafted crystal.
The factory experience is on overhead viewing galleries and is not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or walking aids.
Day 4. Thursday Enjoy a day at leisure to explore more of Ilfracombe at your own pace.
Day 5. Friday We depart after breakfast and travel home.
