Itinerary

Day 1. Friday We depart and travel to Shrewsbury for an included cruise along the beautiful River Severn. Founded by the Saxons and most extensively developed by the Tudors, Shrewsbury lies within a giant loop of the river and is famed for its impressive castle, church spires, ancient abbey, leafy parklands, and half-timbered medieval buildings. Wander its charming streets, lined with independent shops, historic landmarks, cosy cafés, and picturesque riverside views, perfect for a leisurely afternoon. After time to explore this fascinating town, we continue to Telford and check in to the Mercure Telford. This evening, enjoy a three-course dinner at the hotel.

Day 2. Saturday After breakfast, we make the short journey to the fascinating Ironbridge Gorge – a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important industrial heritage areas in the world. Whether you're interested in fine china, decorative tiles, engineering history, or daily life in Victorian England, there’s something to capture everyone’s imagination. Entrance is included to several key attractions: Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, Iron Bridge & Tollhouse, Jackfield Tile Museum, and Blists Hill Victorian Town, complete with costumed characters, and a recreated Victorian high street. Please note: Some museums may close without prior notice.

Day 3. Sunday Following breakfast, we begin our journey home, stopping en route at the award-winning RAF Museum Midlands, a must-visit for aviation and history enthusiasts. Home to one of the UK’s largest and most impressive aviation collections, the museum features over 70 historic aircraft displayed across three wartime hangars. Explore captivating exhibits showcasing planes, military vehicles, tanks, models, and even life-sized Russian dolls. Highlights include the world’s oldest surviving Spitfire. With interactive displays and immersive galleries, it’s a great experience for all ages. We depart later this afternoon to complete our journey home.

Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
