Itinerary

Day 1. Sunday We depart and travel to York to explore the St. Nicholas Fair. Famous alpine chalets will line Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square, creating a festive wonderland filled with local traders and artisan products. Immerse yourself in the city’s charm and the enticing scents of spiced mulled wine this season, as fairs, and festival flavours transform York into a magical festive fairytale. Renowned for its extraordinary cultural heritage, York is a beautifully preserved medieval city. After a day of exploring, we leave York and head to the outskirts to the Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel. This evening, enjoy a three-course dinner followed by a relaxing evening.

Day 2. Monday We depart after breakfast and visit Castle Howard, one of Britain’s finest historic houses, situated just outside York in the scenic Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Explore the lavishly decorated interiors of Castle Howard, beautifully transformed into the magical world of Oz for the festive season. Enjoy breathtaking dramatic installations, enchanting lighting, and immersive soundscapes that capture the wonder, warmth, and joy of this special time of year. After soaking up the festive atmosphere, we depart later this afternoon to begin our journey home, taking with us the magical memories of this truly unforgettable experience.

Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel

The Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel is a beautiful 18th century Georgian manor house, set amongst extensive grounds, just 3 miles from the buzzing centre of historic York. Renowned for its exquisite architecture, Gothic cathedral and tangle of quaint cobbled streets, historic York is a beautiful city. All bedrooms are en-suite with television, telephone, and tea/coffee making facilities. Additional facilities include a restaurant and lounge bar. Lift to all floors in the modern wing only.
