Day 1. Monday We travel to Worcester.
Day 2. Tuesday Following breakfast, we set off on an excursion to Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth. Hugged by the River Wye, Ross-on-Wye is a picturesque market town known for its natural beauty and historic charm. Enjoy time to explore its characterful streets, browse independent shops, or relax by the riverside. Later, we cross into Wales to visit Monmouth, nestled in the lower Wye Valley. Famous for its striking 13th-century gatehouse bridge, Monmouth also holds royal significance as the birthplace of King Henry V. Together, these two towns offer a delightful blend of history, architecture, and scenic river views, making for a rewarding day out.
Day 3. Wednesday Today, we explore the historic city of Hereford, beautifully set in a bend of the River Wye. The city’s impressive cathedral is home to two medieval treasures: the world-famous Mappa Mundi and the unique Chained Library. Beyond the cathedral, Hereford invites you to wander among half-timbered buildings and enjoy riverside strolls. Wander along quaint Church Street, lined with independent shops and cafes, or enjoy browsing the vibrant Old Market – now a stylish open-air shopping destination. With its rich history, relaxed atmosphere, and riverside charm, Hereford offers a memorable and rewarding day in the Wye Valley.
Day 4. Thursday Enjoy a day at leisure to explore more of Worcester at your own pace.
Day 5. Friday We depart after breakfast and travel home.
