Day 1. Sunday: An early start this morning as we make our way to the port of Holyhead for our relaxing and scenic crossing to Dublin. Upon arrival in Ireland’s vibrant capital, we journey onward to the outskirts of the city, where we’ll settle in for a comfortable overnight stay with dinner, bed, and a hearty breakfast included.
Day 2. Monday: After a hearty breakfast, we depart our hotel and head towards Castleisland, with a delightful stop in the vibrant city of Limerick. Set majestically on the banks of the mighty River Shannon, Limerick is a city steeped in rich history and heritage, where the echoes of the past still resonate through its cobbled streets and historic landmarks. After soaking in the charm of this fascinating city, we continue our journey through the breathtaking landscapes of County Kerry. We’ll arrive in Castleisland, where we’ll enjoy three nights of comfort, dinner, and breakfast at the River Island Hotel, your perfect base for exploring the wonders of this region.
Day 3. Tuesday: Today, we embark on a journey into the Dingle Peninsula, one of Ireland’s most stunning and storied landscapes. Known in Irish as Corca Dhuibhne, the peninsula stretches 30 miles into the Atlantic Ocean from Ireland’s southwest coast and is defined by a dramatic mountain range that runs like a spine through its centre. We visit the charming and colourful fishing town of Dingle, where a welcome awaits. Here, we set off on a scenic cruise around Dingle Harbour, a place steeped in natural beauty and layered history. As we glide through the calm waters and out into the bay, marvel at the towering cliffs and sculpted sea arches, while discovering tales of the region’s maritime heritage, the impact of the Great Famine, the legacy of local landlords, and Dingle’s historic ties with Spain and France.
Day 4. Wednesday: Enjoy a visit to Killarney with an included Jaunting Car Tour and Cruise, the perfect way to see the hidden delights of Killarney National Park and the famous Lakes of Killarney. The Tangney family, whose jaunting business has been in operation for over 220 years, will welcome you on board their pony and trap rides and take you on an exciting tour of the area. As you clip-clop along winding trails and glide across tranquil waters, immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and stories of this enchanting landscape. The Killarney National Park was established in 1932 to protect one of Ireland’s most precious natural habitats. Beneath the wild, rugged summits of the country’s highest mountains, it encloses a beautiful sylvan landscape of ancient woodland, spectacular waterfalls, and quiet lakes.
Day 5. Thursday: We depart Castleisland this morning and begin our return journey home, travelling through the ever-changing Irish countryside, with its rolling green hills, charming villages, and patchwork fields. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a short but memorable break in Dublin, Ireland’s vibrant capital city. Take some time to stretch your legs, perhaps explore a few local sights, browse for souvenirs, or simply enjoy a coffee or a pint of Guinness and soak up the city atmosphere. Later, we continue to our comfortable hotel located on the outskirts of Dublin, where we’ll enjoy a relaxing final evening in Ireland, complete with dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6. Friday: We depart early, journeying towards Dublin Port to begin the final leg of our adventure. Enjoy a full, hearty breakfast onboard the ferry as you relax and take in views. As the ferry sails away, we reflect on unforgettable memories made and the magic of Ireland that will stay with us long after we arrive home.
