Day 1. Sunday: An early start this morning as we make our way to the port of Cairnryan for our relaxing and scenic crossing to Belfast. Upon arrival in Northern Ireland’s vibrant capital, we journey onward to the outskirts of the city, where we’ll settle in for two nights, dinner, bed & breakfast at the Dunadry Hotel & Gardens.
Day 2. Monday: Today we enjoy a guided tour of Belfast with included entrance to the Titanic Story. Belfast is a vibrant, modern city with a fascinating past. Get your bearings with a guided tour through its four ‘Quarters’ taking in historic landmarks including City Hall and Queens University. Later this afternoon we include entrance to Titanic Belfast. Titanic is an unmissable visit in any tour of Northern Ireland. It is in the heart of Belfast, on the slipways where RMS Titanic was built. Inside the iconic building, you will re-live the entire Titanic story from her birth in Belfast to the fateful maiden voyage and her eventual discovery on the seabed.
Day 3. Tuesday: We leave Belfast behind and travel to the world-famous Giant's Causeway for a 2-hour visit. No tour of Northern Ireland would be complete without experiencing this UNESCO World Heritage site, steeped in myth, legend, and natural wonder. The Giant's Causeway, located along the rugged North Antrim Coast, is home to approximately 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, formed by volcanic activity 60 million years ago. According to legend, the giant Finn McCool created the Causeway to challenge his Scottish rival, Benandonner. Not only is the Causeway Northern Ireland's only World Heritage Site, but it is also a National Nature Reserve, situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. After our fascinating exploration of the Causeway, we continue our scenic journey to County Donegal. We will settle into the town of Donegal for two nights, enjoying a warm welcome at the Central Hotel, where dinner, bed, and breakfast will ensure a restful stay.
Day 4. Wednesday: Today, we travel along the stunning edge of Donegal Bay to visit the Folk Village at Glencolmcille. Nestled on a hillside overlooking the sandy curve of Glenbay Beach, the village consists of traditional cottages, known as a ‘clachan,’ each representing a different era of Irish history, spanning the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. Later, we journey to the Slieve League Peninsula, home to some of Europe's highest and most dramatic marine cliffs. To fully appreciate the awe-inspiring views, we leave our coach behind and board a minibus to reach the viewing point, where we’ll witness the cliffs soaring nearly 2,000 feet above the Atlantic.
Day 5. Thursday: We depart Donegal and begin our scenic journey south, with a fascinating stop in Sligo, a county rich in history and mythology. This land of poets and dreamers, immortalized by WB Yeats, is a living canvas of music, art, and literature, reflecting the creative spirit of its people. After soaking in the cultural charm of Sligo, we continue our journey into County Mayo, pausing for a break in Knock, renowned for its spiritual significance. Our travels then take us to County Clare and the town of Ennistymon, nestled along the picturesque River Cullenagh. Here, we’ll enjoy two nights at the Falls Hotel, complete with dinner, bed, and breakfast.
Day 6. Friday: After a hearty breakfast, we begin our day with a visit to the Burren Visitor Centre, where the fascinating natural history of this mystical landscape unfolds before us. The Burren, a vast expanse of limestone pavement, captivates visitors with its unique beauty and diverse ecosystems. Later, we continue to the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre. Ireland’s most iconic natural wonder, the Cliffs soar 214 meters above the Atlantic and stretch for 5 miles along County Clare’s rugged coastline. Offering sweeping ocean views and timeless beauty, it’s no wonder nearly one million visitors are drawn here each year to experience it.
Day 7. Saturday: We bid farewell to Ennistymon and continue our grand tour of Ireland, making our way to the vibrant city of Limerick. Set on the majestic River Shannon, Limerick boasts a rich tapestry of history, and heritage that still resonates throughout the city today. As you stroll through its charming streets, you’ll feel the echoes of centuries past, from medieval landmarks to contemporary buzz. Our journey continues through the landscape of County Kerry, where we arrive in the town of Killarney. Here, we’ll enjoy three nights at the elegant Killarney Towers Hotel, with dinner, bed, and breakfast included, ensuring a restful and delightful stay.
Day 8. Sunday: Indulge in a leisurely day with an included Jaunting Car Tour and a scenic Cruise – the perfect way to uncover the hidden treasures of Killarney National Park and the world-renowned Lakes of Killarney. Established in 1932, this lush park was created to preserve one of Ireland’s most precious natural wonders. Killarney National Park lies beneath the towering, wild peaks of Ireland’s highest mountains, offering a breathtaking blend of ancient woodlands, tranquil lakes, and cascading waterfalls. As you journey through the park, you’ll be swept away by the serene beauty of the landscape, where nature’s wonders unfold at every turn.
Day 9. Monday: Today, we embark on a scenic tour of the famous Ring of Kerry. As part of the breathtaking Wild Atlantic Way, the Ring of Kerry (or Iveragh Peninsula) is a mystical and unspoiled region of Ireland that has captivated visitors for centuries. With its undulating hills, towering mountains, rugged coastline, and charming traditional villages, every twist and turn reveals stunning sights and breathtaking views. From dramatic coastal cliffs to tranquil lakes, the Ring of Kerry offers an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re gazing at the stunning landscapes or exploring the picturesque villages, today promises to be truly memorable.
Day 10. Tuesday: We bid farewell to Killarney and begin our journey back home, heading to the vibrant city of Cork. Known as Ireland’s Rebel City, Cork offers a rich blend of history, culture, and excitement. From its lively streets to its scenic riverside, the city captures visitors with its unique charm and energy. As a key cultural hub, Cork is steeped in fascinating stories, deep-rooted traditions, and a lively atmosphere. After soaking in the city’s captivating vibe, we continue to our hotel on the outskirts of Dublin. Here, we’ll unwind with two relaxing nights at the welcoming Talbot Stillorgan Hotel, with dinner, bed, and breakfast included.
Day 11. Wednesday: Today we enjoy free time in Dublin, a beautiful medieval city with a long and colourful past. Its museums, art galleries, and stunning architecture chronicle its fascinating history. Immerse yourself in the rich heritage and culture of this cosmopolitan capital, which retains a unique charm. For those in search of the perfect pint, Dublin's many pubs offer the perfect setting. The vibrant city life brims with traditional Irish culture, all set against the backdrop of its scenic coastline. Whether you're exploring historical landmarks or simply soaking in the lively atmosphere, Dublin offers a truly memorable experience.
Day 12. Thursday: We depart early, journeying towards Dublin Port to begin the final leg of our adventure. Enjoy a full, hearty breakfast onboard the ferry as you relax and take in views. As the ferry sails away, we reflect on unforgettable memories made and the magic of Ireland that will stay with us long after we arrive home.
Passports: British or Irish citizens travelling on the Irish Sea routes do not need a passport to travel to Britain or Ireland but must have Photographic Identification. Useful means of identification when travelling on this route are passport, driving licence and a bus pass.
