Itinerary

Day 1. Sunday: An early start this morning as we make our way to the port of Holyhead for our relaxing and scenic crossing to Dublin. Upon arrival in Ireland’s vibrant capital, we journey onward to the outskirts of the city, where we’ll settle in for a comfortable overnight stay with dinner, bed, and a hearty breakfast included.

Day 2. Monday: After a hearty breakfast, we set off from our hotel and journey towards the enchanting landscapes of Donegal, with a special stop at the renowned Belleek Pottery. This iconic pottery, famous worldwide, features a fascinating museum filled with exquisite pieces dating back to 1857, showcasing craftsmanship that has truly stood the test of time. After soaking in its charm and artistry, we continue our scenic drive through the rugged beauty of County Donegal. Upon arrival, we settle into the welcoming comfort of the Central Hotel, our base for the next four nights, where delicious dinners and hearty Irish breakfasts await.

Day 3. Tuesday: Today, prepare to be awestruck as we journey along Donegal’s stunning coastal route to the picturesque harbour town of Killybegs, renowned for its bustling fishing port and authentic seaside charm. Later, we venture onward to the majestic Slieve League cliffs – towering nearly three times higher than the Cliffs of Moher and crowned as Europe’s highest sea cliffs. These wild, dramatic cliffs rise steeply above the Atlantic Ocean, offering breathtaking panoramas that make you feel as though you’ve stepped to the very edge of the world. It’s a truly unforgettable experience that captures the raw beauty of Ireland’s rugged coastline.

Day 4. Wednesday: Enjoy a full, free day to immerse yourself in the charm and character of Donegal. This lively town, perched on the shores of Donegal Bay along the spectacular Wild Atlantic Way, is rich in history and culture. At its heart stands the imposing Donegal Castle, a 15th-century fortress overlooking the serene River Eske - where you can step back in time and uncover captivating tales of medieval Gaelic lords. Begin your exploration at the bustling Diamond market square, a lively hub surrounded by inviting shops, cozy cafés, and heritage attractions, offering the perfect blend of tradition and contemporary Irish life, on your free day.

Day 5. Thursday: After breakfast, we venture to the enchanting Glenveagh National Park Visitor Centre, nestled in the heart of County Donegal. Spanning nearly 10,000 hectares of rugged mountains, serene lakes, sweeping glens, and ancient woodlands, Glenveagh is a true natural treasure. Since opening in 1986, the park has captivated visitors with its stunning landscapes and peaceful beauty. While entry to the majestic Glenveagh Castle is not included, it may be available to book on the day for an additional charge, payable directly at the visitor centre (subject to availability). Prepare to be immersed in one of Ireland’s most breathtaking wildernesses.

Day 6. Friday: We depart Donegal this morning and begin our return journey home, travelling through the ever-changing Irish countryside, with its rolling green hills, charming villages, and patchwork fields. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a short but memorable break in Dublin, Ireland’s vibrant capital city. Take some time to stretch your legs, perhaps explore a few local sights, browse for souvenirs, or simply enjoy a coffee or a pint of Guinness and soak up the city atmosphere. Later, we continue to our comfortable hotel located on the outskirts of Dublin, where we’ll enjoy a relaxing final evening in Ireland, complete with dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7. Saturday: We depart early, journeying towards Dublin Port to begin the final leg of our adventure. Enjoy a full, hearty breakfast onboard the ferry as you relax and take in views. As the ferry sails away, we reflect on unforgettable memories made and the magic of Ireland that will stay with us long after we arrive home.
