Itinerary

Day 1. Monday We travel to Dundee.

Day 2. Tuesday Today we travel into the ancient Kingdom of Fife and enjoy a visit to St Andrews, Scotland’s world-famous home of golf. Renowned for its historic university, medieval streets, and beautiful traditional buildings, this charming coastal town offers plenty to explore - from the ruins of St Andrews Cathedral to the intriguing nearby attraction, Scotland’s Secret Bunker. Later, we continue to the pretty village of Pittenweem, a traditional East Neuk fishing port. More of a working harbour than a seaside resort, it’s home to a busy fleet of fishing boats, trawlers, and small creel boats, offering an authentic glimpse into daily local maritime life.

Day 3. Wednesday Enjoy a day travelling through Angus with a visit to the traditional seaside town of Arbroath, home of the famous Arbroath Smokie - haddock smoked over wood fires and considered a delicacy around the world. We then continue to Stonehaven, a picturesque harbour town just south of Aberdeen. Our final visit of the day is entrance to the House of Dun, an elegant Georgian country house where costumed guides bring its history to life. With stunning vistas overlooking Montrose Basin and set amid glorious gardens and woodland, the House of Dun is every inch the perfect 18th-century laird’s home – and a fantastic end to the day.

Day 4. Thursday Today we enjoy a visit to Glamis Castle, with the afternoon free to explore Dundee. Found in the very heart of Angus, Glamis Castle has been the ancestral seat to the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne since 1372. Once the inspiration for William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Glamis is renowned for its rich history. Dundee is Scotland’s sunniest and most dynamic city, and its waterfront is home to the V&A Museum of Design, the world's only V&A museum outside of London. Whilst at the RSS Discovery you can experience life in the Antarctic with Captain Scott and his crew on the Royal Research Ship Discovery at Discovery Point.

Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.

Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
