Day 1. Monday We travel to Lytham St. Annes with a leisurely stop at Oswaldtwistle Mills, a former weaving mill transformed into a vibrant shopping and leisure destination. With over 100 retailers offering top brands, local products, and unique gifts, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a spot of retail therapy. The site also features a lovely garden centre and a choice of inviting cafés - ideal for a relaxing lunch or refreshment break. This charming and characterful destination offers something for everyone, including friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere, before we continue to the resort of Lytham St. Annes, where the fun and excitement of the coast await.
Day 2. Tuesday Enjoy a day visiting Morecambe, a traditional seaside town famous for its five miles of promenade with stunning views across the sea to the Lakeland Fells. Be sure to visit the iconic Eric Morecambe Statue, which looks out proudly over the promenade as a tribute to the beloved comedian who brought the town fame. Discover The Tern Project, a fascinating collection of public art installations inspired by the vibrant birdlife of Morecambe Bay. Whether you’re enjoying a peaceful walk, sampling local delicacies, browsing the shops, or simply soaking up the fresh coastal air, Morecambe offers a charming and refreshing seaside escape.
Day 3. Wednesday Enjoy a day at leisure to explore more of Lytham St. Annes at your own pace.
Day 4. Thursday Today, we start with a morning visit to bustling Ormskirk Market before continuing to Southport. This classic seaside resort is the perfect place for a relaxing excursion, boasting beautiful beaches, fantastic attractions, and superb shopping along elegant Victorian Lord Street. Southport’s coastline stretches over 22 miles, featuring several beaches. Don’t miss a stroll along one of the UK’s oldest piers, which extends proudly over the sand and offers breathtaking panoramic views across the Northwest. Whether you’re soaking up the fresh sea air or exploring the charming coastal town, Southport promises a truly memorable and enjoyable day.
Day 5. Friday We depart for home today, with a delightful stop in Skipton to explore its popular Friday Market. The market’s history dates back to medieval times, when a Royal Charter granted permission to ‘The Lord of the Honour’ of Skipton Castle to hold a fair on the High Street. Today, the market is a bustling hub of activity, featuring a wide range of stalls selling everything from cheeses and local meats to scarves, arts and crafts, Yorkshire-made blankets. Beyond the market, there's also the opportunity to visit the impressive Skipton Castle, one of the best-preserved medieval castles in England, offering a fascinating glimpse into the town’s heritage.
