Itinerary

Day 1. Monday We make our way to Crewe with a relaxing stop at the charming Trentham Shopping Village, set among beautifully crafted timber lodges in a picturesque woodland setting. Here, you can browse an inviting mix of popular high street brands and unique independent boutiques, offering everything from stylish fashion and homeware to locally made gifts and curiosities. Take time to unwind in one of the cosy cafés or inviting restaurants, perfect for a light bite or a drink. You’ll also have free time to explore the impressive garden centre, bursting with seasonal plants, garden décor, and inspiration for green-fingered visitors.

Day 2. Tuesday After a hearty breakfast, we set off on a delightful excursion to Knutsford, a charming gem nestled in the heart of Cheshire. This enchanting market town is rich in character, with cobbled streets, quaint shops, and a fascinating history that inspired the works of Elizabeth Gaskell. Later, we continue to magnificent Tatton Park, one of the UK’s most impressive historic estates. While the Mansion is closed, you’ll have access to the beautiful parkland and award-winning gardens. To round off the visit, enjoy a comforting light lunch of freshly made soup of the day served with warm, crusty bread – a perfect way to relax and recharge.

Day 3. Wednesday Today, we journey to the historic city of Chester, a place where ancient history and vibrant modern life sit side by side. Founded by the Romans over 2,000 years ago, Chester is one of Britain’s heritage cities. Its remarkably well-preserved city walls are the most complete in the country, offering a walk through time with views of the bustling streets below. Around every corner, history comes to life – from the impressive Roman amphitheatre to charming medieval half-timbered buildings. Don’t miss Chester’s most iconic feature: the unique two-tiered Rows. These covered walkways house a mix of shops above and below.

Day 4. Thursday Following breakfast, we include a morning visit to Nantwich. Nestled along the banks of the River Weaver, this charming town is where rich history meets contemporary flair. Famed for its beautiful medieval timber-framed buildings, Nantwich offers a vibrant town centre brimming with independent boutiques, quirky coffee shops, and artisan food producers. Take your time to explore and soak up its unique character. Later this afternoon, we return to the hotel, where you are free to relax and enjoy the facilities at your leisure – whether that’s unwinding in the spa, taking a dip in the swimming pool, or simply enjoying a quiet moment.

Day 5. Friday We depart after breakfast and begin our journey home via the beautiful market town of Bakewell. Situated on the banks of the River Wye, Bakewell offers a delightful day out steeped in rich heritage and tradition. Surrounded by glorious countryside, the town features cosy tea rooms tucked into charming courtyards, impressive stone buildings, and a picturesque five-arched bridge believed to date back to Roman times. Explore the Grade I listed church, local museum, historic almshouses, and various riverside attractions. You'll have free time to explore at your leisure before we continue our relaxing journey home.

Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
