Itinerary

Day 1. Friday We depart and visit Richmond, standing proudly at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. Richmond is one of Britain’s most beautiful and vibrant market towns, boasting an iconic castle, fine historic buildings, a sweeping cobbled marketplace, and leafy riverside vistas. It is also the original Richmond - an inspiration for no fewer than 105 other towns worldwide. Enjoy some free time to explore its charming streets, and browse independent shops, before we continue our journey. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Washington and the Holiday Inn Washington. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.

Day 2. Saturday Today we enjoy a visit to Newcastle. United by seven iconic bridges across a bustling Quayside, Newcastle and Gateshead form a single, diverse, and extremely vibrant visitor destination in the Northeast of England. We return to our hotel later this afternoon for an early evening meal, before making our way to Kynren, for the spectacular open-air live show. Set against the magnificent backdrop of Auckland Castle, the 90-minute show begins at dusk and ends in starlight. The show takes you on a journey through British history, myth and legend with a cast and crew of 1,000. We return to the hotel on completion of the show.

Day 3. Sunday We depart after breakfast and travel home via Durham. With its medieval past, Durham has eagerly embraced the modern with its captivating mix of history and heritage with contemporary culture. A captivating city with winding cobbled streets and a prominent peninsula crowned with the dramatic Durham Cathedral and Castle World Heritage Site. Explore the timeless quality of this quintessential old English University City and take some time out with a relaxing riverside walk or river cruise, or soak up the atmosphere with superb cafés and museums. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
