Day 1. Saturday We depart this morning and travel to Skipton for its popular Saturday Market. The market’s history dates back to medieval times, when a Royal Charter granted by King John allowed the Lord of Skipton Castle to hold a fair on the High Street. Today, the market features a wide range of stalls selling everything from local cheeses and meats to arts and crafts, scarves, footwear, and Yorkshire-made blankets. Away from the market, you may also wish to visit the impressive and well-preserved Skipton Castle. Later this afternoon, we continue to Preston and check in at the Holiday Inn Preston. This evening, enjoy a three-course dinner.
Day 2. Sunday We depart after breakfast and travel into the Lake District, England’s largest National Park and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, for time at leisure. On arrival in Bowness-on-Windermere, there will be free time to explore. Situated on the shores of Lake Windermere, this vibrant and picturesque town offers a wealth of shops, cafés, pubs, and cultural attractions, including The World of Beatrix Potter. Lake Windermere is England’s largest lake, and there’s no better way to experience its beauty than with a relaxing and scenic cruise across its tranquil waters (not included). We depart later this afternoon to begin our journey home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
