Day 1. Saturday We depart and travel to the historic city of Chester, a unique blend of classic charm and contemporary vibrancy, bursting with must-see treasures. Chester boasts the most complete city walls in Britain, the oldest racecourse, and the largest Roman amphitheatre in the country. Visit its 1,000-year-old cathedral, home to Europe’s finest medieval carvings, and explore the famous 700-year-old Rows galleries, where shopping is a double delight. We will also enjoy a tranquil half-hour cruise on the River Dee, taking us upstream under the suspension bridge, past Grosvenor Park and the Earl’s Eye, before following the long sweep of the Meadows to the city limits. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Mold, and the Beaufort Park Hotel. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Sunday Following breakfast, we travel home via Chester Zoo, where over 35,000 animals and 125 acres of beautifully maintained zoological gardens await your discovery. Chester Zoo is the UK’s most visited zoo and a world-renowned conservation and charity dedicated to preventing extinction and protecting endangered species. You’ll be transported to some of the world’s most remote and fascinating habitats, encountering critically endangered orangutans from Southeast Asia’s rainforests, playful ring-tailed lemurs from Madagascar, and the majestic roaring lions of the savannah plains - just to name a few incredible species! Whether you’re a budding conservationist, or passionate about wildlife, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy. We depart later this afternoon to begin our journey home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
