Day 1. Sunday We depart for York, a city of extraordinary cultural wealth and one of England’s best-preserved medieval gems - a must for history buffs. Step 2,000 years into the past as you wander the Gothic halls of York Minster Cathedral, delve into the city’s Viking heritage at Jorvik, or explore the National Railway Museum. Trace William the Conqueror’s footsteps and enjoy the views from Clifford’s Tower, then browse the shops nestled within the 13th-century timber buildings of The Shambles. Later this afternoon, we make the short journey to Harrogate and check in at The Old Swan Hotel. This evening, enjoy a relaxing three-course dinner.
Day 2. Monday Following breakfast, we enjoy some free time in Harrogate, one of Yorkshire’s most refined and picturesque towns. Known for its historic architecture, beautiful gardens, and stylish atmosphere, Harrogate offers an appealing mix of boutique shops, galleries, and antiques dealers. Stroll along its elegant, tree-lined avenues or relax in one of the many charming pavement cafés. The Montpellier Quarter is a highlight, filled with exclusive shops and award-winning restaurants. Be sure to return to the hotel in time for your included afternoon tea - a delightful treat. Later this afternoon, we depart and begin our comfortable journey home.
