Itinerary

Day 1. Friday We depart and travel to Chester. On arrival at the Indigo Hotel, the remainder of the day is free for you to explore at your leisure. Known for its rich Roman heritage, distinctive black-and-white architecture, and charming medieval streets, Chester is a truly unique city full of character. Walk along the ancient city walls, explore the famous Rows – two-tiered galleries of shops – and admire the impressive Eastgate Clock, one of the most photographed in the UK. Shoppers will enjoy a wide selection of independent boutiques and popular high street names, all within a compact, vibrant, and easily walkable city centre full of charm.

Day 2. Saturday Today, enjoy a free day to explore Chester at your own pace. History lovers can visit the Roman Amphitheatre, Chester Cathedral, or the Grosvenor Museum, which offers fascinating insights into the city’s Roman and medieval past. For a relaxing break, take a stroll along the beautiful banks of the River Dee or enjoy a boat cruise for a different view of the city. Alternatively, hop on an open-top sightseeing bus tour to take in Chester’s key landmarks and hidden corners. In the evening, why not dine in one of the city’s many pubs or stylish restaurants offering everything from traditional British fare to innovative, locally inspired cuisine.

Day 3. Sunday Enjoy additional time in Chester this morning to soak up the city’s charm. Why not take a final walk along the historic city walls or explore the tranquil Grosvenor Park, one of the finest examples of Victorian parks in the country, with its ornamental features and leafy pathways? For a spot of shopping or a coffee, the Rows offer a unique and atmospheric experience you won't find anywhere else in the UK. If you’re looking for a relaxing end to your visit, a peaceful riverside stroll, a quiet moment by the bandstand, or a final visit to the Cathedral’s gardens makes the perfect farewell. We depart later this afternoon to begin our journey home.
