Itinerary

Day 1. Friday We depart and travel to Richmond, a charming Yorkshire Dales market town steeped in history and natural beauty. Proudly standing at the gateway to the Dales, Richmond delights with its elegant Georgian architecture, cobbled marketplace, and leafy riverside walks. Towering above the town is Richmond Castle - one of the oldest Norman fortresses in Britain - offering panoramic views and a glimpse into centuries of heritage. After free time to explore at your leisure, we continue to Middlesbrough and check in at the Leonardo Hotel. This evening, unwind and enjoy a delicious three-course evening meal in comfortable surroundings.

Day 2. Saturday Today we travel to the atmospheric coastal town of Whitby, where history, legend, and natural beauty come together. Overlooked by the dramatic ruins of Whitby Abbey, the town features winding cobbled streets, a bustling working harbour, and sweeping sandy beaches that invite you to explore. Follow in the footsteps of Captain Cook or Bram Stoker’s Dracula, uncover the story behind the famous Whitby Jet, or simply unwind with award-winning fish and chips beside the sea. With ample time to explore at your leisure, Whitby offers the ideal blend of charm, heritage, and nostalgia. We return to the hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 3. Sunday After breakfast, we set off for a nostalgic journey through the Yorkshire Dales aboard the heritage Wensleydale Railway. Travelling in vintage diesel comfort from Leeming Bar to the market town of Leyburn, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of rolling hills, stone-built villages, and lush green dales. There’s time to explore Leyburn’s welcoming shops, cafés, and traditional charm before rejoining the train for our return journey. This scenic rail adventure offers a peaceful and memorable way to experience the countryside. Later this afternoon, we begin our journey home, taking with us lasting memories of a wonderful getaway.

Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
