Day 1. Monday We travel to Aberfoyle.
Day 2. Tuesday Enjoy a day travelling through the glorious Trossachs, as we head to Loch Katrine for an included cruise. The 45-minute cruise departs from Trossachs Pier and takes you on an awe-inspiring journey, as you glide past stunning Trossachs landmarks. Our journey will continue over the Dukes Pass, past the village of Brig o Turk and into the bustling town of Callander, famed as the location for the original Doctor Findlay's Casebook television series. We continue to Glenturret Distillery, Scotland's oldest working distillery. We will include a guided tour and taste of the award winning Glenturret.
Day 3. Wednesday Enjoy a morning at leisure, before enjoying a 3-course lunch at the hotel. We depart the hotel later this afternoon and travel to Edinburgh for time at leisure. Later this evening the coach will transfer you to Edinburgh Castle for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Set against the backdrop of Edinburgh’s imposing castle, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is one of the most iconic events in Edinburgh's calendar and celebrates the skills and talents of military bands and display teams from throughout the world.
Important Information: Some passengers may find the walk to the castle difficult. There is a steeply inclined walk up Castlehill, the old, cobbled approach to the Esplanade. There is then a further 60-metre walk, followed by steps up to the spectator stands where the seating is steeply tiered.
The day the Edinburgh Tattoo is included is subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
Day 4. Thursday Today we enjoy a cruise on Loch Lomond. This one-hour circular tour of Loch Lomond's South basin enjoys views of the magnificent Ben Lomond and passes a number of Loch Lomond's stately homes and castles along the shoreline. Venture out towards Inchmurrin Island - the largest of Loch Lomond's 33 islands and home to the ancient remains of Lennox Castle, which in the 14th century sheltered a fugitive Robert the Bruce before he was to become King of Scotland. We also will enjoy some free time at Lomond Shores, home to shops, restaurants, and the Sea Life Aquarium.
Day 5. Friday We depart after breakfast and return home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
