Day 1. Saturday We depart and travel to Durham. With its medieval past, Durham has eagerly embraced the modern with its captivating mix of history and heritage with contemporary culture. A captivating city with winding cobbled streets and a prominent peninsula crowned with the dramatic Durham Cathedral and Castle World Heritage Site. Explore the timeless quality of this quintessential old English University City and take some time out with a relaxing riverside walk. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Middlesbrough and the Leonardo Hotel Middlesbrough. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Sunday Following breakfast, we depart and travel to the popular coastal town of Whitby. From the atmospheric Abbey towering over winding cobbled streets to the windswept beach and working harbour, Whitby is not your traditional coastal town. No trip to this picturesque ancient seaport would be complete without sampling some award-winning fish and chips. Follow in the footsteps of Bram Stoker’s Dracula and English explorer Captain James Cook or discovering the history of the famous Whitby Jet. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
